CUSTOM DIE-CUT SIGNS

Custom cut to any shape, die-cut signs are a great way to add visual interest by breaking out of the typical rectangular-shaped box. Whether you are looking to honor a past championship, retire a jersey, install outdoor advertising, or enhance your facility with a professional-looking logo, Team Fitz can help.

Multiple options available including indoor and outdoor signs as well as dimensional upgrades. Dimensional signs add multiple layers of material to the standard, single-layer sign. This creates a three-dimensional look that literally pops off the wall. Consider this option if you are looking for a high-end look in key areas of your athletic facilities.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

What Are Die Cut Signs Made From?

The backbone of any sign is the rigid surface or substrate on which the graphics are applied. We offer three different substrate choices to fit any application.

  • PVC – Polyvinyl Chloride or PVC is a standard and popular option for die-cut signage. The popularity of this plastic-like material stems from its durable nature and affordability. PVC signs typically last for years when installed indoors.
  • Aluminum – The material we typically recommend for outdoor signage is a composite aluminum material such as Dibond®. This material is made of two sheets of .012” aluminum with a solid core of polyethylene plastic. This extremely durable material will never corrode, rust, or warp. This material has even been approved for work-zone safety signage and other highway signage by the Federal Highway Administration.
  • Acrylic – Acrylic is a versatile transparent plastic material with a glossy finish. It features outstanding strength, stiffness, and optical clarity that resembles glass.

Next the printed graphics are applied to the selected substrate. Team Fitz digitally prints on permanent-grade adhesive-backed vinyl producing crisp and vibrant graphics. All our die-cut signs are then finished with a laminate. This laminate layer offers protection against abrasion, reduces glare, and protects against UV color fade.

Can You Cut a Custom Shape From a Die-Cut Sign?

Yes! Die-cutting can produce any custom shape. Signs cut to match team and company logos are the most requested, but there are many other options available. Custom routed lettering is another popular choice.

Are There Custom Size Options with Die-Cut Signs?

We can fabricate your die-cut sign to any size. Keep in mind that material sheeting is typically 5’ x 10’ or smaller. Any sign that expands outside those dimensions would need to be tiled together. Once installed these seams are not visually intrusive.

Are Die-Cut Signs Suitable for Long Term Outdoor Display?

If you are interested in installing your sign outdoors, we recommend our aluminum die-cut signage option. An aluminum substrate is combined with a premium cast vinyl and laminate combination that is outdoor rated for permanent installations. This material combination limits the expansion and contraction that causes some outdoor signage to fail prematurely. Additionally, these signs have two layers of protection from damaging UV light that can fade signage. UV resistant inks are used in the printing process and the laminate layer also features a protective layer to protect against this threat.

Are Die-Cut Signs Easy to Install?

Installation varies depending on the size and scope of the project. Single piece signs typically feature an easy installation with just a handful of screws. Larger projects with multiple pieces such as individually cut lettering are not generally difficult to install. They just take a bit more time and planning to ensure a quality installation. Team Fitz Graphics is happy to help guide you or your maintenance department through the process should you need assistance.
